It is not uncommon to find many different oil varieties on the grocery store shelves these days, both in the baking and beauty aisle. From your basic extra virgins to highly expelled and pressed, there are so many varieties to choose from.
Whether you are cooking with it or putting it on our skin, there are the right ones, and then there are healthier ones.
So how do we know which ones are right?? Any chef will tell you that cooking oils are specifically chosen for different cooking techniques or temperatures and flavors. The same goes for why we use certain oils on our skin (but replace taste with scents and quality).
When doing the research for the perfect sugar scrub ingredients, Pretty Witty POP looked at oils with the same critical eye. We quickly found out that oils for your skin are not all created equal, and they also don't give you the same results!

So, we did our research. We tested each ingredient based on how good they are for your skin and the quality of each oil. In every sugar scrub jar, you will find a combination of fractioned coconut oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, and jojoba oil.
The health benefits of each oil serve a purpose. Some are ultra-hydrating and have anti-bacterial properties. Some are anti-inflammatory. Others have proteins and potassium that feed the skin to keep it healthy. You’d be surprised at how much there is to know about oils!
